Yes, cheering for the Wildcats is a great stepping stone up to the high school cheer program... but your cheerleader will have lots of fun regardless of what they want to be when they grow up. No previous experience is necessary!! Having dance and tumbling experience helps but each season we start fresh so your cheerleader will have no problem catching on.
Registration for Cheerleading is $225. Registration is "first come first serve" so register early!
Each cheerleader is provided a cheer skirt and cheer vest for their use during the season. These are however property of the league and will need to be returned at the end of the season. She will also need white cheer sneakers.
Practice starts the first full week in August and is typically Monday - Thursday 5:30 pm-7:30 pm. Once school starts our practices will only be twice a week. The older teams may have additional practices based on need and as we get closer to the Cheer Competition.
Our first game is usually during Labor Day Weekend with a game on Saturday or Sunday. Home games are at Brooks Field / Milton High School. A typical season will have 4 home games and 4 away games.
Toward the end of the season (October) the cheerleaders attend the Baystate Cheer Competition. The Cheer Competition is always the highlight of the season and the girls have a great time. But they work hard to get there so it's nice when they can show off everything they have learned through the season.
